The National Windrush Museum (NWM) proudly presents its exciting line-up of events and activities for the Windrush 76 Summer Season.
Continuing the success of last year's historic collaboration with the Royal Museums Greenwich, NWM is thrilled to commemorate the rich heritage and cultural significance of the Windrush generations with a diverse range of engaging programmes, notable speakers, and community involvement for the Windrush 76 anniversary.
Dr. Les Johnson, founder and chairman of the National Windrush Museum, expresses his anticipation for the upcoming season, stating, "We are honoured to continue celebrating the legacy of the Windrush generations and their invaluable contributions to British society. This summer's programme promises to engage, educate, and inspire audiences of all ages."

NWM International Windrush conference
International Conference and Festival: Rewind and Remix 2 - Title: Future Identities: Migration, Settlement, and Transformation. On June 19th, 2024, 8 am-5 pm, the National Windrush Museum will host an International Conference at Greenwich University close to the NWM.
The keynote lecture will be presented by Professor Robert Beckford, University of Winchester, Director of the Institute for Climate and Social Justice and broadcaster. The day will be filled with other lectures, workshops, and in-conversation sessions. The conference will promote a Windrush e-book.
The conference continues on June 20, 8 am-3:30 pm. The keynote lecture will be given by Ms, Tonya Nelson Executive Director, Enterprise and Innovation, Arts Council. Talks and workshops will focus on Windrush Cultures, Digital, Innovation & Futures. Sessions will be led by the NWM Next GEN, exploring the intersection of AI, communications, social media, culture, style, and the future of the Windrush generation.

Windrush Lectures - Professor Dame Donna Kinnair
The lecture series continues on June 18th, 6:30 pm-8:30 pm, with a special tribute and memorial to Windrush pioneers and those who lost their lives during the Covid pandemic. The event will feature a poignant presentation by expert Professor Dame Donna Kinnair, Chair of the Runnymede Trust who will provide insights into the health and wellbeing of Windrush communities and the National Health Service history.

WINDRUSH LECTURES - Levi roots
NWM Windrush Lectures at Queens House, Royal Museums Greenwich. June 13th, 2024. 6:30 pm-8:30 pm. Partnering with the Royal Museums Greenwich, the National Windrush Museum presents its inaugural lecture series at the Queens House. Beginning on June 13th, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from Levi Roots, Lead Ambassador of the National Windrush Museum.
This celebrity event celebrates the narratives of the children of the Windrush pioneers, highlighting their significant contributions to Britain. Join us to hear the captivating stories of Levi Roots and his guests.
